(April 20, 2017, Millville, NJ) — Round 2 of the F-Series Gearup Challenge kicks off this weekend, as they head to Millville to compete at the 1.1 mile New Jersey Motorsports Park track. After a record 189 entries for Round 1, the series expects to keep the momentum going for this weekend’s event. Not only will drivers from around the country will be in attendance, but as always the series expects local drivers to get in on the action as well.

The series implemented a change in the points structure for the 2017 season, a move that was intended to reward consistency and will surely make the fight for the championship even more competitive throughout the season. Going into this weekend, it’s still anyone’s race as there are still six more rounds in the series. While nothing is certain for the current leaders, here’s a look at the top five for each class after Round 1.

The series also received overwhelming positive feedback after the first official race with new partner LeCont, announced as the official race tire late last year. While the series is growing both in numbers and in competition, the organizers still work hard to maintain an enjoyable atmosphere at their events. Says promoter Marco Oldhafer, “Our top priority is customer satisfaction, so when teams and drivers react positively to the changes we make it really let’s us know we’re on the right path. As the series has grown over the years, we’ve had to adapt to changes in the market and the sport, but never tried to compromise the fundamentals of what the Gearup Challenge is all about: a fun, competitive racing environment. In the end, we want everyone to come race and have fun while doing it!”

Practice for Round 2 begins on Friday, April 21st, with official racing to commence on Saturday the 22nd. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so on the F-Series website or directly at the track. Be sure to follow on Facebook for results and updates from the track throughout the weekend.
